4 Summer Marketing Tips
It’s the middle of the summer, and you might be starting to realize that things are shifting. This is the time of year where kids are off school, people are cashing in their vacation time and they may not be as engaged in their normal advertising habits or routines. What usually works all year long might not be as effective in the summer, but you might also be thinking it’s too late to change up your strategy. Don’t worry, there are still many things you can do for your summer marketing in July!
4 Tips for Great Summer Marketing
Have Bright Photo Shoots and Video Shoots for Summer Marketing
When it comes to digital marketing, there is almost no better time than summer to snap some great photos for beautiful ads. Schedule a photo shoot or video shoot outside to evoke the feeling of enjoying this time of the year – even if your business has absolutely nothing to do with the weather outside. Even though it’s July, it’s not too late to go outside and snap some photos. Having a quick turnaround and putting them up on social media or on ad sets is easy – just make some time this week for it!
Create a Summer Deal
The majority of people tend to gravitate toward companies who offer a special, especially when comparing two competitors. However, there are only a couple of times throughout the year where people actively search for deals and actually use them – even when they weren’t looking for a particular product or service. Those times include the holidays and, you guessed it, the summertime. Create a deal that runs through the end of summer to reach new customers you might never have gained otherwise!
Plan for the Holidays
You may have already missed some Memorial Day marketing and with the 4th of July in just a few short days, you may feel like you have already missed that boat, too. The good news is: it’s not over until it’s over! You can announce a deal now just to see how it goes, and use that data to craft a more comprehensive Labor Day deal. In addition, you can use this time in the interim to start planning your end of summer marketing and early fall messaging.
Target the Vacationers
When people go on vacation, they romanticize the idea of unplugging and staying away from their phones. The reality is – we all have an internet addiction. Unless you are in the middle of the woods with absolutely no cell phone signal, chances are you are logging into that hotel wifi to unwind at the end of a long day of sightseeing. In addition, you are probably popping onto social media to upload the day’s photos to make all your friends and family jealous! Tap into that – ramp up your social media budget, and don’t be afraid to craft your messaging to those vacationers.
